April Workshop Notice
When: 10:00a.m. Saturday, Apr 20, 2019
Where: Eden Community Center, 710 Elgin Street, San Lorenzo
Instructor: Kathy Toy and Sonali Vagholikar
Theme: **Hana-isho (in a tall vase) and Heika FEE $20*
Container: Tall container
Materials: Arranger’s choice
There are “Five Pillars” of the Ohara School of Ikebana: Moribana, Hana-isho, Heika, Hana-kanade, and Hanamai. In April’s workshop, our two instructors, Kathy Toy and Sonali Vagholikar, will be demonstrating and instructing us on two of these: Hana-isho and Heika.
**Student to Assistant Teacher 2nd Term: create Basic Hana-isho, using a tall vase (Rising or Inclining form).
**Instructor or higher: create Heika (Upright or Slanting style).
Both container and materials are arranger’s choice – just make sure your container is tall.
NOTE: BOARD MEMBERS, THERE WILL BE A BOARD MEETING FOLLOWING THE WORKSHOP

*This workshop is open to all chapter members.
Guests are welcome to attend for a $20 fee (which increases to $25 after 2 visits). Guests should be sponsored by a member and the member must notify the workshop committee in advance.
